p16 is a tumor suppressor protein that inhibits cyclin dependent kinases (CDK4, CDK6, etc.) and inhibits cell cycle progression. This is achieved through the inhibition of retinoblastoma phosphorylation which decelerates cell cycle progression from G1 to S phase. Clinically, p16 can be used as part of a histological assay to confirm the diagnosis of Cervical Intra-epithelial Neoplasia.

p16-nAb is a nano-antibody that binds p16.  It is characterized by its small size, ~12.5kd, so 1µg of p16-nAb is equivalent to 10µg of a traditional antibody by weight and 5µg of a traditional antibody when considering avidity.
